Question 1

What is Made in Africa?

Accepted Answer

Made in Africa is a B2B trade and procurement platform where businesses can discover African suppliers and products, publish requests for quotations, and find tender and project opportunities across the SADC region.

Question 2

Which countries does Made in Africa cover?

Accepted Answer

The platform focuses on the 16 SADC member states: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Supplier and service availability can vary by country.

Question 3

How are suppliers verified?

Accepted Answer

Supplier checks can include business registration, the authority of the person representing the company, and relevant licences or industry accreditation. Verification supports identity checks and does not guarantee product quality or transaction performance.

Question 4

Are tender notices guaranteed contracts?

Accepted Answer

No. Tender listings are opportunities for discovery, not guarantees of eligibility or contract awards. Always confirm the notice, deadline, documents and submission instructions with the issuing authority.

Question 5

Is escrow available for marketplace trades?

Accepted Answer

Do not assume escrow is available for a transaction. Check the current Made in Africa service terms and payment-partner availability before making payment or relying on payment protection.
